Thanksgiving savings

For a 25 lb turkey, a huge spiral ham & all the fixings for 8 adults including beverages, appetizers, main course, sides & desserts we spent a total of $120. It could have been a bigger savings if I had complete control but this was helping my mom. I saved her a total of $40 with coupons! Still a success. Have a super happy thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Day

Ok so my adventure begins tomorrow trying to figure out all the deals I can find for the big day. Taking my mom on a mission! Keep checking. Post for thanksgiving savings coming by Tuesday!

At Stop n shop Perdue chicken nuggets are buy one get on free, they're 3.99 each and with my 4 $1 off coupons I get 4 for $4!!! Perfect. #allsmiles

All but 3 items were free!1 bag instant mashed potatoes, 8 boxes of rice, 2 -2liter bottles seltzer, 4 bottles juice and a water bottle because I was thirsty! Lol check later for pictures! Keep clipping!

Stocking up on stocking stuffers!

Christmas is right around the corner! Don't panic. You can still save money with your coupons! Start stocking up on your Hair, make up & toiletry coupons to cut your costs in half! Ideas for stockings:
Body wash, sprays, make up, shampoos, toothbrushes, candy, etc. lots of coupons for these items! Use your CVS extra bucks for the things you can't use coupons for, like little toys & stationary! Happy Holidays!

THANKSGIVING HEADLINE

In yesterdays paper, the cape cod times had an article stating that feedjng an average family of about 10 would cost 13% more this year! Well, with couponing and my help I can reverse that cost to about 50%-65% less!!! Keep checking for my Thanksgiving blog when I go holiday grocery shopping with my mom!

Near East couscous and rice pilaf are on sale this week at Shaws 10/$10. With $1.00 off coupon from a couple weeks ago they're #FREE! Sunday, at CVS... Colgate total is on sale for $1.00. With $1.00 off coupon in this week's Sunday paper it's #FREE! Also at CVS Sunday, Suave deodorant is $1.00 with $1.00 off 2 they become $0.50 each!!! Guess how much!

So my trip today included 6 bottles of laundry detergent, 4 big bottles of fabric softener, 2 bags of dog food (3.5lbs), 6 bags of dog treats, 1dish detergent, 1 lb of coffee, 4 bags of instant potatoes (4.1 oz). Can you guess how much???



Well retail before card and coupons was about $110. It cost me...


...$39! That's 65% savings!

More and more

I think this week sales were really good! I went back to shaws for more Dynamo laundry detergent. The sale as you know was buy 1 get 2 free, I have $1.00 off 2 coupons. So I buy 6 bottles, paid for only 2 @ $6.99 each after coupons it cost about $11 for 6 bottles! That's 192 loads of laundry!!! A

Stop n shop has Near East couscous on sale 10/$10. With the $1 off coupon in Sundays paper, they're free! Sale ends today so hurry if there's any left. If not get your rain-check!

Holidays

Holidays are upon us once again! I know, I know... All we grown ups think is bills, money and debt. What if I can help you take away some of the worry? SOoooooo.... I went to stop n shop AGAIN!!! But this time my savings were 63%! My best yet. Delverde pasta was regularly $2.29 a box, it's on sale for $1, with my $1 off 2 coupon they were $0.50 a box! Activia Greek yogurt is also 10/$10....with $1 off 3 they are 3 for $2. Keep checking for more deals and savings!!!

What can $20 get you?

I needed a few things to get through the week with little cash. I had a few coupons and zoned in on store sales. Heres what I got with my $20 below. With out coupons and sale price it would have cost $29.38. That's not bad for a need only buy! Well the brownies were not "needed" lol. They were $1.39 each but I had 3 online coupons for $1 off one. So they were $0.39 each!!! Bargain!

My Macys Savings!

Check out the new comforter and 500 count beautiful sheets I scored today at Macy's! With the sale price of 40% off plus an extra 15% savings with the coupon, I saved a total of $214.02!!! Before sales and coupon savings, the comforter alone was $265 & the sheets were $170! It would have cost $435! Check out the pics of the receipt and the goods below!

Stop & shop has Purina beyond dog food small bags on sale 2/$12. I had a $4 off coupon and paid $2 for it! Happy dog happy wallet happy me! Keep clipping!

iPhone apps

Stop n shop has a free app for your iPhone! This app is amazing. You can see your accrued gas points and when they expire! See their weekly circular and sale items no matter where you are, plus get COUPONS! I'm going to check for others. Keep clipping!!!

Who likes FREE hot dogs?

Kmart has Bar S hot dogs on sale with an in store coupon this week in the flier... With the coupon they're $0.88. Sunday's Cape Cod Times and Boston Globe have a MFC for $0.75 off which Kmart doubles making it free and I believe Kmart gives up to $0.07 back! More good deals to be posted, stay tuned!

Little tricks

Places like Rite Aid & Walgreens have a clearance section where you can get make up & other items for dirt cheap, use your make up coupons to maximize your savings & pay pennies to look like a glam goddess! I paid $0.48 for eyeshadow and $0.12 for nail polish!

Where do you get your coupons?

I find mine in the Sunday papers and some of the fliers. Some stores have their own exclusive coupons which can be combined with other manufacturers coupons. Make sure you know the coupon policy of the store you shop. Some coupons can be doubled or even tripled, good luck.
WHERE HAVE YOU FOUND COUPONS?

Getting you started my way

Things you need:
A 3 ring binder
Baseball card inserts ( I suggest 10 sleeves to start)
Obviously good scissors
Each week get your coupons and cut cut cut!

Now you're probably wondering what the heck you'll be doing with these things. Well the binder has worked well for me to keep all my coupons organized, accessible and visually easy to find.
Once you cut all your coupons, organize them into piles by category. Cleaning products, toiletries, dairy, grocery, deli, personal hygiene...you get the idea. Some people have alphabetized them, that doesn't work well for me. But try and see what will work best for you.
Once you've organized your coupons, slide them into the slots as you wish. You can make your binder decorative if you want & personalize it with you're own touch!
